Campaign for Kids 2012
For Club kid, Paula, it starts with a desire to play soccer and be healthy...
Paula is 8 years old and despite fears of fitting in physically with other members, she desperately wanted to play soccer at the Club. With the encouragement of the staff, she signed up anyway. Staff members noticed a significant change in her self-confidence, appearance and attitude as she played on her soccer team. Paula was honored with the Sportsmanship Award for being the most improved player. She now shows an intense drive to improve herself, stay active, and make healthy choices.

How Do Great Futures Start?
For Club kid, Jesse, it starts with someone to help him graduate...
Jesse was named Capitol West Club Youth of the Year for 2011. The oldest of three boys, he was born in the United States shortly after his parents emigrated from Mexico in search of a better life. He is the first in his family to graduate from high school, having graduated from West High School in 2011 with honors and a 3.85 cumulative GPA. He is now attending Utah State University on an engineering scholarship.

How Do Great Futures Start?
For Club kid, Abdi, it starts with homework and basketball...

Abdi is 15 years old and has been a member of the Club for the past three years. When speaking of his desire to be a CEO of a company someday, Abdi said “I want to be in a position where I can help a lot of people. I want to give back to the Boys & Girls Club. I want to come back and talk to the kids. I didn’t have anybody to show me the way until I found the Club. I want to be that person for the kids who come after me.”

Who believed in you?
ONE positive influence can change the course of a child's life forever. Stop for a moment and ask "Who believed in me?" A parent? A teacher? A coach?
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake is answering that question for hundreds of kids every day. Caring and committed staff find and nurture the best in every member so they can see past the barriers in their families and neighborhoods and envision a positive future for themselves.
Be the difference.
IT JUST TAKES ONE person to make a difference in a child's life. A year of Boys & Girls Club programs costs just $400 per child. An investment in the Boys & Girls Club can give hope to an entire neighborhood.
Consider these opportunities to give at any level:
- $400 sponsors a Club member for one full year of membership
- $250 gives a child healthy snacks and hot evening hot meals
- $100 provides a tutor for Power Hour homework help
- $50 sponsors one child in a soccer, football or basketball league
- $25 gives a child supplies for arts and craft projects
You can answer a child's honest question - "Who believes in me?" - by making your gift today and declaring:
"I do!"
